This Bible record appears to be an old handwritten transcription, but no letter from the author of the transcription was found. The transcription is written on a single piece of 8 ½ x 11" plain, white paper. I have transcribed this record exactly as it was written by the unknown author - including repeated words, punctuation, spelling, etc. James Argyle Smith & Calantha Calhoun were married in Jasper Co., Miss., July 14, 1874. James Argyle Smith was born a native of Tenn., Born July 1. 1831. Calantha Calhoun was born in Jasper County, Miss., July 14, 1847. Helen Argyle Smith, daughter of James Argyle & Calantha Calhoun Smith, was born in Jackson, Miss., Oct. 7, 1879. Ethel Calhoun Smith, daughter of James Argyle & Calantha Calhoun Smith, was born in Jackson, Miss. Jackson, Miss., August 25, 1887. James Argyle Smith died in Jackson, Miss., Dec. 6, 1901. Calantha Calhoun Smith died in Jackson, Miss., July 20, 1928. Mrs. Susan M. Calhoun, mother of Calantha Calhoun Smith & of Henry Calhoun died in Jackson, Miss. June 30, 1890. Henry Calhoun died in Jackson, Miss. Feb. 16, 1892.
