Larry Clark officiating. Burial will be in the Thompson Funeral Home under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home. Family hour is from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Jones was born Nov. 22, 1936, in Jefferson County. She was a member of Rising Sun Baptist Church, AARP and the Black Caucus. Jones was preceded in death by her mother, Lizzie Washington; her father, George Washington Sr.; one son, Robert Lee Brown; two sisters, Louise Hedrick and Matile Washington Booker; and three brothers, Esaw Washington, Floyd Washington and Dan Washington. Survivors include six daughters and spouses, Judy Hamilton and Eugene, Carolyn Carter of Port Gibson, Janice Adams and Elgin, Shelly Jones of Nashville, Tenn., Rosemary Brown and Jerry Ann Smith of Los Angeles; three sons, Danny Washington of Port Gibson, John Washington of Los Angeles and Bernis Jones and his wife, Erica of Vicksburg; three brothers and their spouses, George Washington Jr. and Katie of Port Gibson, Roosevelt Washington and Patricia of Jefferson County and Willie Washington of Natchez; two sisters, Mary Banks and James of Jefferson County and Lela Coleman and Eugene of Memphis, Tenn.; one aunt, Rosie Dixon of Jefferson County; friends, Edward Brandon of Port Gibson and Lillian and Lee Gaines of Vicksburg; 25 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be friends of the family. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Washington, John Washington, Bernis Jones, Gerrick Brown, Eugene Hamilton and Elgin Adams.
