Guy, 58, veteran ad compositor for the Laurel Leader-Call. Dr. Damon Vaughn, pastor, officiated and burial was to follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Guy was one of three sons of the late Sidney F. and Beulah G. Guy, of McComb, attended the schools of Pike County. At the age of 18 he began work as an apprentice in the office of the Tylertown Times, at Tylertown, after which he attended the Southern School of Printing in Nashville, Tenn. Returning to Mississippi, his first work was with the Summit Sun and from there he went to the Pascagoula Chronicle Star as production superintendent. Illness forced him to give up his Pascagoula job and he returned to Tylertown for a period of recuperation during which he did part- time work. In 1949 he came to Laurel to work for the Leader-Call where he has since been continuously employed. He died Saturday night following a heart attack, although he had been in ill health for sometime and had not worked for several weeks. Guy was married Aug. 10, 1928 to Miss Dixie Quinn of Tylertown. There are two children, Mrs. Ted May, Alexandria, La., and Sidney, Jr., with the Pascagoula Chronicle Star and three grandchildren. He is also survived one brother, Randolph Guy, a resident of Arlington, Va. Outside of his family and work, Guy's main interest was in the program of the Magnolia Street Baptist Church where he was a deacon and taught the Fellowship Bible Class. Active pallbearers were: Leon Flynt, Haskel Smith, Charles Brown, Roberts Holiday, Roy Walley, Jr., Joe Musgrove, B.T. Collins and L. O. Saucier. Honorary pallbearers included deacons and members of the Fellowship Bible Class of Magnolia Street Baptist Church and employees of the Laurel Leader-Call.
