Author: Autry Oliver Hodge Sarah Adeline Foust Daughter of Evaline Stout and Billy Foust. Evaline (Irish, age 15) married Billy (German Dutch) in North Carolina. After about two years, they packed their few belongings onto a two year old colt and started their long and weary journey to Tennessee. He carried the baby and she led the colt. After about nine years, they moved to Lafayette County, Mississippi, some ten miles east of Oxford, where they bought land. They had born to them fifteen children, eleven living to have families. Five served for four years in the Civil War. One lost his left leg. Two of the girls lost their husbands. Their children were Charles B., John, Dow, Jane, Mary, George, Sarah, Wesley, Enas, and Tom. (No mention of the eleventh child in his records.) Sarah married James David "Dave" Hodge, and they became the parents of Oliver Wiley Hodge. (My paternal grandfather) Additional Comments: My mother, Lilah Dayle Hodge Cole, received a booklet, in the 1960's, that showed all the information that her brother, Autry Oliver Hodge, had compiled during his years of research into their family history. Sarah Adeline Foust and James David "Dave" Hodge were my mother and uncle's paternal grandparents. Their parents were Oliver Wiley "Ol" Hodge and Addie Pearl Parham Hodge.
