                                Joe Berry Becton
 Services for Joe Berry Becton will be held Thursday at 1pm from Isney Baptist 
Church with the Rev. Roger Carlisle and the Rev. Pellham Gross officiating. 
Burial will be in Isney Baptist Church Cemetery in Isney, Ala., with Barham 
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
 Mr. Becton, 47, of Meridian, died early today at Riley Memorial Hospital. He 
was the owner of Meridian Diesel & Salvage Co. and was a member of National 
Federation of Independent Businesses, Detroit Diesel Service Craftsman Guild, 
and Social Member Homeport Fleet Reserve Association. He was a member of 
Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church and was a Meridian businessman for over 21 
years.
 Survivors include his parents, L. D. Becton Jr. and Mattie Toomey Becton, 
both of Silas, Ala.; three brothers, L. D. Becton III, Hampton, Ark., O. M. 
Becton and Tom Becton, both of Silas, Ala.; a sister, Totsy Becton Todd, 
Pineville, Ala.; three daughters, Erin Becton, Fort Collins, Colo., Kelly 
Becton Corey and Shannon Becton, both of Meridian; a son, Joe B. Becton Jr., 
Mobile, Ala.; a grandson, Robert Marshall Corey II; seven nieces and three 
nephews; two great-nieces; and a great-nephew.
 Visitation will be today from 5pm to 9pm at Barham Funeral Home.
 The family requests memorials be made to Joe B. Becton Scholarship Fund to 
benefit Nashville Auto Diesel College, Trustmark National Bank, attention, 
Kyle Covington.
