OBERSCHMIDT DROPS DEAD AT NETTLETON ------- Body Found Next Morning ------- NETTLETON, Miss., Oct. 29.—Friday morning about 8 o’clock, Rev. Charles Oberscmidt was found dead in the hallway of the Presbyterian manse. He had fallen against the glass in the front door, breaking out a portion of the light and cutting a small wound on one side of the forehead. The crash of glass about 5 o’clock the afternoon before attracted some men across the street, and one of them, J. H. Young, went to investigate the cause of the falling glass. The front hall door was nearly closed and, as it was about sunset, and hearing nothing, he did not enter. Next morning Mr. Young went around and entered the hall from the back way to find the body lying almost against the front hall door. Immediately I. E. Roberts, mayor, empaneled a jury of inquest and an examination of the body by the attending physician, Dr. C. O. Farrar, was made. The jury returned the verdict that Rev. Charles Oberscmidt had come to his death from natural causes, there being no evidence of violence or self-destruction present. He had expressed himself as being anxious about his blood pressure as being high, and had been careful to avoid excitement as much as possible. He was called to this work about two years ago from Corsicana, Texas. Additional Comments: Copy is exact including difference in surname.
