Note: Calvin I. Caraway, born in North Carolina, was the son of Archibald 
(Arche) and Elizabeth Taylor Caraway and the grandson of Rev. Wm. Taylor, Jr., 
a Revolutionary soldier. He and Frances Ledbetter were married in Anson 
County, NC. The migrated to Lowndes County, Miss. in 1835 and in 1844 moved to 
Rankin County, Miss. Ref: Archibald Caraway Bible, "Cemetery & Bible Records," 
Volume III, pp 112-114, compiled by Mississippi Genealogical Society. Rev. Wm. 
Taylor, Jr. served as private in Shephard's Company, 10th NC Regiment. Record 
on file in War Department, Washington, DC, National DAR Library, Washington, 
DC.
