Turn left (north) on Firetower Road and go it's length (6.6 miles), it dead ends into Mt. Zion Road. Turn right on Mt. Zion Road and go .4 miles to a logging road on the right, turn onto this road and go .3 miles. The cemetery is on the left. Copied from inventories given to Canton Library, Madison Co., Miss. and are on file there. William McWillie, born in South Carolina, the son of Adam McWillie, was a soldier in the War of 1812, with the rank of Adjutant. William McWillie served as state senator in S.C. for several years. In 1845 he moveD to the NE portion of Madison County, Miss. Here he built a beautiful plantation home and called it "Kirkwood". He served as congressman from Missisdsippi, 1849 - 1851, and was Governor of Mississippi from Nov. 16,1857 to Nov. 21, 1859. In Dec 13, 1818 he married (1st) Nancy Louisa Cunningham (b. Jan 6,1799);d. April 6, 1827), daughter of Joseph & Jane Cunningham of Camden, S. C. They had seven children. On May 17, 1831 he married (2nd) Catherine Morris Anderson.
