This file was compiled and contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Pat Wellington *************************************************************************** Location: This cemetery is located north of Flora on a blacktop road. Copied from inventories given to Canton Library, Madison Co., Miss. and are on file there. This cemetery is so badly grown up with saplings, bushes and briars that part of it is impenetrable. A small portion at the entrance is cleaned off, and the Harris lot at one corner is accessible. All stones that could be reached were copied. The ground was completely covered with a vine in which it was very easy to catch a foot and fall. It is said that there was a Mt. Bluff Baptist Church about 60 years ago, but there is no longer any sign of it. On a few of the stones the inscription read: Member of Mt. Bluff Baptist Church. Note: This inventory has many of the same grave identifications as Balfour Cemetery which was copied twenty years prior to this one being made. NOTE: This apparrently is the same cemetery as the Balfour-Gartley Cemetery. Also as of Aug. 1996 the cemetery has been cleaned and is in pretty good condition.
