This file was compiled and contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Pat Wellington *************************************************************************** Location: Take Hwy 43 east of Canton, from the intersection of Hwy 43 and Hwy 17 go north on Hwy 43 4.2 miles where Cauthen intersects Hwy 43, turn left on Cauthen. Go on Cauthen Road for 1.25 miles to the intersection of Camden Road, turn left and go approximately .4 miles, there it intersects Beaverdam Road, turn left and almost immediatley on the left is the cemetery on a slight rise. Copied from inventories given to Canton Library, Madison Co., Miss. and are on file there. The cemetery is in good condition and is fence-enclosed. A Baptist church was organized here in 1895 but later burned. The descendants of the first settlers: the Boutwells, McKays, Gobers, Thomases, and Thorntons built a shelter and meet there yearly in August to clean off the grounds.
