This indenture made this 15th day of December one thousand eight hundred & forty eight between Daniel Moore & Mary Moore of the first part & Edward Newham of the second part, Witnesseth that the said Daniel & Mary Moore for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred & forty five dollars & eighty cents to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have this day bargained sold & conveyed to the said Edward Newham all that tract or parcel of land lying & being situated in the County and State aforesaid and known, designated & described as follows, viz. The SE quarter & S half of the E half of the SW quarter of Section Eleven and E half of the SE quarter of Section thirteen all in Township eight Range Nine East, with all and singular the hereditiments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described land free from all lawful claims whatever this day and date above written. Daniel Moore Mary Moore State of Mississippi, Madison County} Personally appeared before me the undersigned an acting member of the Board of Police in and for the County and State aforesaid Daniel Moore who acknowledged that he signed sealed and delivered the foregoing deed for the conditions therein mentioned and in a private examination of Mary Moore separate and apart from her husband Daniel Moore acknowledged that she signed sealed & delivered the foregoing deed as her voluntary act and deed for the conditions therein mentioned without any fear threats or compulsion of her said husband.
