State of Mississippi, Madison County} This indenture entered into and inscribed this twenty day of March AD 1855 between Daniel Moore and his wife Mary Moore of the first part and James C. Ford of the second part, witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of eighteen hundred and forty dollars to them in hand paid at and before the signing, sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have this day bargained , sold, released and conveyed and by these presents do sell, release and convey unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the said county and State known and designated as follows, viz., N 1/2 of the E 1/2 of NE 1/4 and E 1/2 of SE 1/4 and N 1/2 of W 1/2 of SE 1/4 of Sec. 31 Township 8 R 3 East and N 1/2 of Lot No. 1 of Section No. 6 Township seven of Range 3 East containing by estimate Two hundred and forty acres more or less. To have and to hold the above described land with all and singular the rights and appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the paid party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever and the paid party of the first part for themselves their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns in fee simple against the claim of themselves and the claims of all other persons whatsoever legal or equitable whatever. In testimony whereof the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their names and affixed their seals the day and year first above written.
