Will of Allen Spars, Madison Co., MS, Will Book A In the Name of God Amen. I, Allen Spars of the County of Madison and State of Mississippi being weak in body though strong in mind and disposing memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death do think proper to make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following, to wit. It is my will and desire that my Negro woman Phillis and her three children Catherine, Martha Ann and Hulda shall have their freedom for life. Item I give and bequeath to Phillis and her children the sum of five hundred dollars to be paid over to them as their necessities may require. I also give and bequeath to Phillis and her three children mentioned above all my estate both real and personal that may be left after paying my just debts and all expenses that may be necessary to settle my estate. Item It is my and desire that the property hereby given __ be left __ my executors to be given to them as the necessities may require. Lastly I nominate and appoint Isaac R. Baggett & H M Taylor my whole and sole executors to this my last will and testament __ revoking all other wills by me heretofore made.
