Moore Estate of Charles Moore - Madison County, Mississippi Probate Case #464 1) In the name of God amen, I Charles Moore of the County of Madison and state of Mississippi this my last will and testament. I first I direct that my boddy be decently in laid on my own land. Just it what place my wife shall direct and also my just debts be paid. and my worldly estate as it has pleased God to in trust me with I dispose of the same as follows: I give and bequeath to my dear wife all the ready money I have on hand all the household and kitchen furniture. I have except two beds and furniture all my stock of horses, cattle, hogs, and sheep except one gray mare Nashville I give my wife three eights of land where my dwelling house is and all things appertaining thereto in Section fourteen township Eight Range three and my eighty acres of land laying in Pearl River bottom also to my wife Hanna, Harriet and all her increase, Emma, Lewis, Clary, Lamb, and Albert, and my interest to Rhubin. To my adopted daughter Margaret C. Moore too beds and furniture, one gray mare Nashville one quarter section of land in Section Ten Township Eight Range three also to my daughter Margaret C. Moore, Cambridge, Rosanna, and her increase, Clarisa, Henry, Willis the money that Col Dicksdon Hall owes me). I give and bequeath to Sarah B. Chapee Lucy provided that she lives with my wife til she...and to E. O. Chaffee if he lives to the years of maturity one horse, saddle and bridle the money I give my wife and daughter is for the use and benefit of the family. This within instrument being this day produced in open and is the last will and testament of Charles Moore decd and at the same time Lewis Finley, Samuel W. Finaley, and Isaih W. Whitehead administrator witnesses...also before the Court. ...an oath touching the execution and publication of said instrument respectively disposed that they were present and witnessed the execution and publication thereof that said estate enjoined the same. McKee and this will be your receipt for the same. Sharon, November 25th, 1849, Daniel Moore. 2) To the honorable the judge of the probate court of Madison county, State of Mississippi. We the undersigned do hereby certify that L. Finley, guardian of M. C. Moore, now M. C. Newell, one of the undersigned did when request by us give in full and peaceable possession of all the property belonging to said M. C. Moore which he was in possession of as guardian for said M. C. Moore, and that he has collected and paid over to us and our creditors as by us directed all the money due and accuring to us my account of the use and hire of said property. therefore we the undersigned pray your honor that you receive this as a voucher in full of all matters appertaining to the guardianship of the said L. Finley and we do declare that we wave all notice which the law may require in such casses on final settlement of a guardian with the probate court given under our hand this 10th day of January 1851.
