I John Pettis of the County of Madison and State of Mississippi being weak in body though of sound and perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament as follows. I will and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elizabeth such portion of my estate as is the legal and usual provided for the widow during her natural life and at her death the property to revert to the children of my beloved daughter Elizabeth Sutherland which together with the balance of my estate I wish equally divided between the children of my said daughter Elizabeth Sutherland and that as they become of age each one shall receive its portion of the estate. I do further appoint and ordain my beloved wife Elizabeth Pettis and Daniel Sutherland executors of this my last will and testament investing them with the power to sell and convey to all or any portion of said estate as may appear to them of most advantage to the legatees.
