Will of Reuben Harris In the name of Almighty God Amen. This is my last will and testament. Being in sound mind though in poor health I do give and bequeath my property in the following order, to wit, and at the same time I do constitute and appoint David W. Haly and George Koher both of the County of Madison and State of Mississippi my true and lawful executors to take charge of my estate and manage it in the following way. I wish all my negroes hired out except a child's part which I wish my wife to have and to be at her disposal. I wish all the balance hired out and the money arising to go to the support and education of my children and any surplus that may be over and above I wish placed in bank on interest if possible - and as they come of age. I want the account of property and their dividend in the money to be ver to them as a child's part and if my beloved children die before they become of age I want all the property equally divided amongst the rest of my children. I want my beloved wife to have free possession of my land where I now live and to enjoy all of her child's part as long as she may think proper to remain thereon ___ she leaves before my youngest child becomes of age ____ explain as __ the case of __ the keeping of my negroes and when my youngest child becomes of age I wish them to have the tract of land jointly and to do __ and with it as they may think proper. I want my wife to have all my household and kitchen furniture to be hers and if my beloved wife wishes to keep any of the children with her until they get large enough to go to school I wish her to be paid one hundred dollars a year each child for the time she may have them in her possession to be paid out of the hire of said negroes, though this money is not allowed her after they arrive at eight years of age unless the said child or children is receiving an education to the satisfaction of my executor. I wish my beloved wife to have all my stock of cattle and hogs and farm horses __ farm head in __ as she may select. I wish all my stage property disposed of as soon as possible and the proceeds applied after all my just debts are paid I wish all monies that may be left applied as above after paying over to my beloved wife a child's part and any business I have omitted in this will I leave to the judgement and discretion of my old and long time friends David W. Haly and George Koher keeping in view the raising and education of my dear and beloved children. Almighty God Amen.
