Will of Russell Moore State of Mississippi, Madison County} Last Will and Testament of Russell Moore In the name of God Amen. I, Russell Moore of the county and state aforesaid, being of sound mind memory and understanding, do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in form following, to wit: I give my body to the dust and my soul to God who gave it - my property or worldly estate, I dispose of as follows: ITEM 1st I appoint my son William Singleton Guardian of the person ans estate of the minor children of my deceased son Joseph, to wit: Mary, Joseph and William Singleton, and that he shall have full power to act in said capacity as guardian without giving bond or security. ITEM 2nd I appoint Francis Singleton, wife of my son William Singleton guardian of the persons and estate of my son Singleton, and that she shall have fu;; power to act in said capacity as guardian without giving bond and security and at the death of my said son Singleton, she shall inherit the estate bequeathed to my said son Singleton ITEM 3rd It is my desire that whatever personal property I may have shall be divided by my children as they may agree except a gray male [?] which I give to my son James Singleton. ITEM 4th I desire that my real estate lying and being in the County of Madison to wit - the lot no. 1 Section 30 Township 11 Range 5 east containing ninety-one and 0ne- fourth acres, Lot no. 2 Section 31 Township 11 Range 5 east, containing eighty acres - Lots 1 and 5 Section 31 Township 11 Range 5 east, containing one hundred and nine acres - in all two hundred and eighty acres - shall be equally divided between my children as follows: They to select two men and they two selected are to call in a third man who shall divide the land into five and one-half lots equaling the value of said lots - after which William Singleton is to have one share, Charles Singleton one share, James Singleton one share - William Singleton guardian of my deceased son Joseph’s children one share, and Francis Singleton guardian of my son Singleton one half share and Archie Singleton one share. It is my desire that my estate be thus disposed of and further that ____ ____ ____ than probating this ___ ___ ___ whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 24th day of November AD 1879.
