DEED - James & John Commander Deed to Joseph Fowlkes Transcribed & submitted by Lori Thornton 24 Mar 2002 Monroe County, Mississippi Deed Record 3, p. 285 James & John Commander} This Indenture made and entered into Deed To } this day the 15th of March Eighteen Joseph Foulkes } hundred and thirty four between James & John Commander of the county of Monroe and State of Mississippi of the One part and Joseph Foulkes of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the aforesaid James & John Commander in consideration of the Sum of Eight hundred and twenty dollars to them in hand paid by the said Joseph Foulkes at and before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which acknowledged hath bargained sold aliened enfuoffed and conveyed and by these presents doth bargain sell alien enfuoff and convey unto the said Joseph Foulkes the following described tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Monroe and State of Mississippi it being the east half of the North East quarter of section twelve in Township Thirteen of Range Nineteen West in the district of Choctaw and State of Mississippi containing seventy nine acres and sixty nine hundredths of an acre also another tract or parcel of land lying in the county and state aforesaid it being the south half of the East half of South East quarter of Section Number One in Township Thirteen of Range Nineteen West containing thirty nine acres and ninety two hundredths of an acre be the same more or less to have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land unto the said Joseph Foulkes his heirs and assigns forever we the said James and John Commander doth hereby for ourselves and our heirs and assigns forever warrant and defend the title to the said tract or parcel of land unto the said Joseph Foulkes his heirs and assigns. In Testimony whereof the said James and John Commander hath hereunto set their hand and affixed tseals the day and date first above written. Bickerstaff an acting justice of the peace in and for said county who acknowledged that they signed and sealed and delivered the above and foregoing deed to Joseph Foulkes as their act and deed on the day and year therein mentioned.
