Indenture made November 16, 1853 between Hatch Whitfield of the State of 
Mississippi and County of Monroe of the first part and Benjamin Herring of 
Wayne County, NC of the second part, for $234 land in Wayne adjacent to a 
lightwood stake in the Broadhurst corner, stake Hatch Whitfield and Joel 
Herring's and containing 78 acres.
Witnesses: A W Barwick and Jas F Kornegay
