Saturday Morning as the sun attempted to peep through approaching snow clouds, the Becker community was saddened to hear of the death of Uncle Acker Moon, who had passed away on Friday night, Dec. 20th at 9:15 o'clock. Uncle Acker age 86 years and 8 months was one of the oldest and most beloved citizens of the county. When Uncle Acker was a boy he attended school in the Becker school which was then held in the little Greenbrier log church located in what is now old cemetery. After serving a while in the war he was married to Miss Laura Walters who preceeded him to the grave by 30 years. To this union was born six children, four of whom survive, Namely they are; W. E. Moon, with whom he has made his home these thirty years; Mrs. Alice Cism, Mrs. R. S. Ashley and Mrs. Jim Thornley. He has one living brother, Mr. Billie Moon of Prairie. He is also survived by a number of grand-children.The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon from the church at old Coontail, 6 miles east of Aberdeen, the Reverend Burns, methodist Pastor of Becker officiating. He was laid to rest under a mound of flowers there beside members of his family who had gone before.
