A former long-time resident of Aberdeen died Saturday in Valdosta, GA. Mrs. Leona Knighten Vinson, 90, spent most of her life in Aberdeen, where she taught voice and piano; for a number of years, she also taught in Amory. In 1947 Mrs. Vinson moved to Jackson where she continued teaching for about fifteen years. The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Knighten, Mrs. Vinson is survived by three daughters; Dolores Vinson and mrs. Roy C. Campbell of Jackson, and Mrs. Eddie Laws of Valdosta; a son, Flournoy B. Vinson of Valdosta; six grand-children and 16 great-grandchildren. Final rites and burial were in Valdosta on Monday. At the time of her death Mrs. Vinson was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jackson.
