Mrs. Bertha Mae Walden, 72 died at Columbus Hospital Friday morning. Services were held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with internment in the church cemetery. Mrs. Walden was born in Monroe County, and had lived in Monroe and Lowndes County most of her life. She is survived by one son, William R. Walden, of Jackson; one daughter, Miss Elvare Walden of Columbus, one brother, Alvin Williams; two sisters, Mrs. W. H. Thompson of Aberdeen and Mrs. T. P. Hazel of Fairfield, AL, and two grand-children.
