Witness, (illegible) Judge of Probates of said County, this 23rd day of May, 1836. Know all men by these presents, that we, William Bailey and (Wolsey) Pearce, all of the county of Monroe and State of Mississippi; are held and firmly bound unto his Excellency Charles Lynch, Governor of the State aforesaid, and his successors in office, in the (penal) sum of Two Hundred Dollars, which payment will and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, asings, jointly, severally, and firmly by these presents, But to be void on condition that there is no lawful cause to obstruct the marriage between William Bailey and Tyra. Given under our hands and Seals this 23rd day of May, A.D. 1836 William (his X mark) Bayley, and (Wolsey) Pearce. I certify that I did on the 26th day of May 1836 solemnize the rites of Marriage between the .... named William Bailey and Tyra Pearce.
