Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Park. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Welch Funeral Home. Mr. Faulk died Saturday, November 8, 2003. He was 54 years old. Born in Vicksburg, he was raised in Vicksburg and Jackson. He graduated from Vicksburg's H. V. Cooper High School in 1968 and Belhaven College in 1972. Faulk began his three-decade career as Coordinator of Photographic Services with Mississippi State in 1972. During his years of continuous service in the Office of University Relations, he chronicled every aspect of MSU life. His photos regularly appeared in student recruitment publications, the university's Alumnus magazine, the student yearbook, and, from 1997-2004, a university-designed calendar that showcases campus scenes. News and feature photos by Faulk have appeared in newspapers around Mississippi, the nation, and the world. Many of his scenes have been featured in two books about the university: a pictorial survey published in 1993 and "Inside Dudy Noble-A Celebration of MSU Baseball," published in 1992 by Harmony House. Faulk's last major project was a book of photographs to commemorate the university's 125th anniversary. "125 Years at Mississippi State University: A Pictorial History of the People's University" was released in October. Among his many peer recognitions are a number of Grand Awards for photographic excellence from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. He was among the first recipients of a university-wide Distinguished Staff Award established in 1994 to recognize exceptional contributions to Mississippi State. He also owned and operated Fred Faulk Photography in Starkville. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Starkville and served on the Board of Deacons. He was also an active member of the Starkville Tennis Association. Mr. Faulk was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Faulk, Jr. and Elizabeth Faulk of Vicksburg. He is survived by his wife, Dianne Faulk of Starkville; two daughters, Leah Faulk of New Orleans, LA and Emily Faulk of Charleston, SC; one sister, Jeneva Picket of Vicksburg; one brother, Charles Faulk, III of Jackson and Lake Village, AR; and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Charles III, Charles Faulk IV, Bob Pickett, Dr. Drew Pickett, Howard Pickett, Sam Tinkler III, Steve Tinkler and Bob Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be the Board of Deacons of First Presbyterian Church and members of the Starkville Tennis Association. Memorials may be made to Palmer Home for Children, P. O.
