Pink H. Hawkins Dies In Grenada Hospital, 
Funeral Is Today
Pink H. Hawkins succumbed on Tuesday night, 
November 27, in Grenada Hospital, Grenada. 
He had been ill for almost six months. He 
was 75 years old. 
A farmer throughout most of his life, Mr. 
Hawkins was born in Calhoun County, but 
spent most of his life near Batesville. He 
was married to Miss Letha Brewer in 1917. 
Funeral services will be held today at First 
Baptist Church, Batesville, with the Rev. 
Carl Duck officiating. Burial will be in 
Center Hill Cemetery. Newman Funeral Home is 
in charge. 
Besides his wife, Hawkins is survived by a 
daughter, Mrs. Carl Burlison, both of 
Batesville; two sons, Bradley Hawkins of 
Batesville and Pink H. Hawkins, Jr., of 
Leland; and by a sister, Mrs. Serena Turner, 
Millington, Tenn.
