Property originally owned by William G. Wheat. For many years it was abandoned until Mr. Horace Wheat bought the property and had it cleaned and fenced. Mr. Wheat has since deeded the cemetery and two extra acres to Bethel Baptist Church which is located nearby. Only Wheat descendants and their immediate families may be buried inside the fenced portion of the cemetery. At the time of the recording in 1992, we could discern 17 graves, however, we were told that John Wheat, a Revolutionary soldier from the GA Troops, and his wife Nancy Ann (Kennedy) Smith are also buried here. For many years there were two iron posts in the ground marking their plots. Horace Wheat remembers seeing the posts, but reported they have been removed by unknown persons.
