Davis Jesse M. Davis, 83 year old farmer of Vinegar Bend Community, southwest of Picayune, died at his home at 4:40 p.m. October 18. Mr. Davis was a native of Pearl River County, the son of the late William Davis and the husband of Mr. Harriet Mitchell Davis, who survives him. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted in Old Palestine Cemetery at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Jim Stewart of Pine, La. officiating. Interment was supervised by McDonald Funeral Directors. Besides Mr. Davis' widow, he leaves the following children: Mrs. Savilla Mitchell, Luther Davis, Mrs. Josephine Stockstill, Oliver Davis, Thomas F. Davis, Mrs. Priscilla Herriell, Archie Davis, Mrs. Della Stockstill, Mrs. Zella Stockstill, Mrs. Stella Sylvest, all of Route Two, Picayune; and Monroe Davis of Bush, La. He also leaves two brothers and one sister, William and Sebe Davis of Hammond, La., and Mrs. Josephine Spiers of McNeill.
