Mrs. Harriet Davis Dies Wednesday
Burial at Palestine
     Succumbing Wednesday, Mrs. Harriet Davis was buried Thursday afternoon in 
the Old Palestine Cemetery with Rev. G.H. Byrd, J.Q. Sones, C.W. Sullivan and 
Ernest Seal conducting services in the Old Palestine Church. 
     She was born in Pearl River County in April 1864, the daughter of Thaddeus 
and Sarah Stockstill Mitchell and has resided here since that time. She was a 
member of the Baptist Church.
     Mrs. Davis is survived by her children: Monroe Davis, Bush, La.; Luther, 
Oliver, Archie Davis, Mrs. Josephine Stockstill, Mrs. Sherzie Stockstill, Mrs. 
Bruno Stockstill, and Mrs. Herman Sylvest of Picayune; 46 grandchildren; 82 
great grandchildren and 30 great great grandchildren.
     McDonald Funeral Home arranged the services and pall bearers were J.M. 
Stockstill, Rudolph Davis, R.J. Stockstill, Reginald Davis, Cecil Ray Sylvest 
and Ervin Mitchell.
