Reid rreid21@cox.net June 10, 2004, 11:12 pm Lots 5 & 6 in Square No. 1, Hillsboro, Scott Co., MS Written: June 4 1846 Recorded: June 4 1846 Asa Chambers President &c Filed for record the 4th day of June 1846 To A Eastland Clerk Alfred Eastland This Indenture made and entered into this fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty six by and between Asa Chambers President of the Board of Police in and for the County of Scott and State of Mississippi of the first part and Alfred Eastland of the County and State aforesaid of the second part Witnesseth; That the said party of the first part as President of the Board of Police as aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty two dollars and fifty cents to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents, doth grant, bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part, and to his heirs and assigns forever, all the right title claim and interest in and to the following described lots, pieces or parcels of land lying and being situated in the Town of Hillsborough in the County of Scott in the State of Mississippi and known and described in the Plan of said Town as Lots numbered Five (5) and Six (6) in Square Number one (1) being ninety nine by one hundred and fifty feet more or less. Together with all and singular the premises and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the same unto the said party of the second part and to his heirs and assigns forever, and the said party of the first part doth covenant promise and agree to and with the said party his heirs executors, administrators and assigns, that he will, and his successors in office shall forever warrant and defend the title to the above described Lots or parcels of land, against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whomsoever claiming or to claim the same both in Law and equity – In testimony whereof the said party of the first part hath hereunto subscribed his name and affixed his seal the day and year above written - Asa Chambers President of the Board of Police of Scott County Mississippi The State of Mississippi Scott County Personally appeared before me James J Chambers Clerk of the Circuit Court in and for said County Asa Chambers President of the Board of Police who acknowledged that he signed sealed and delivered the within and foregoing Deed on the day and year and for the consideration and purposes therein mentioned as his official act and deed - Given under my hand and seal of office in Hillsboro this 4th day of June AD 1846 J.J.
