John and Effy Dear
To
William B. Sones

This Indenture made and entered into the 8th day of May Anno Domini Eighteen 
hundred and thirty Eight between John Dear Sen. And Effy Dear his wife of the 
State of Mississippi and County of Madison of the first part and William B. 
Sones of the County of Scott and State aforesaid of the second part
	Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand 
Dollars to us the said party of the first part in hand paid by the said Wm. B. 
Sones of the second part at and before the signing and sealing of these 
presents the receipt whereof whereby acknowledged have granted, bargained, 
sold, aliened enfeoffed and confirmed, and by these presents do grant, bargain, 
sell, alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said Wm. B. Sones and to his heirs and 
assigns forever our undivided interest in and to the North West quarter of 
Section no. five of Township No 8 North of Range no. seven East containing one 
hundred and sixty one 58/100 acres more or less.  To have and to hold unto him 
the said William B Sones and his heirs and assigns forever all and singular 
said land and its appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining 
and we do hereby bind ourselves, our heirs and assigns to forever warrant and 
defend all and singular the said tract of land unto the said Wm. B. Sones his 
heirs and assigns forever and against our heirs executors administrators and 
assigns and against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons 
lawfully claiming the same.
		In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals 
on the day and year above written –
