		This Indenture made and entered into this the first day of 
December in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty six 
between Thos. Slay and Emeline his wife of the county of Scott and State of 
Mississippi of the first part and Charles B. Lowry of the above named County 
and State of the second part, Witnesseth that the said Thos. Slay and Emeline 
his wife for and in consideration of the sum of twelve dollars to them in hand 
paid by the said Charles B. Lowry at and before the ensealing and delivery of 
these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have this day granted 
bargained and sold and by these presents as grant bargain and sell unto the 
said Charles B. Lowry and to his heirs and assigns forever all their right 
title claim and interest in the following tract or parcel of Land situated 
lying and being in the County of Scott & State of Mississippi known and 
designated as being part of the South East qr of Section 8 Township 8 Range 7 
East, and containing two acres situated in the South West corner of above named 
quarter Section of Land running East in width one square acre and in length 
North two acres Together with all and singular the premises and appurtenances 
thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to have and to hold to the said 
Charles B. Lowry and to his heirs and assigns all the foregoing described land 
and premises in Fee Simple forever And the said Thomas Slay and Emeline his 
wife for themselves their heirs executors and administrators, by these presents 
covenant premise and agree to and with the said Charles B. Lowry his heirs 
executors and administrators that they will and their heirs executors and 
administrators shall forever warrant and defend the title to said granted land 
and premises against the claom or claims of all and every person or persons 
whomsoever both at law and equity
				In testimony whereof the said Thomas Slay and 
Emeline his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the Day and year first 
above written.
