Eastland Clerk J B Whitehead This Indenture made and entered into this eleventh day of April in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and forty eight by and between William C Bridges of the County of Leake and State of Mississippi of the first part and Joseph B Whitehead of the County of Scott and State aforesaid of the second part – Witnesseth; that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty five dollars to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever, all the right title, claim and interest in and to the following described tract or parcel of Land lying an being situate in the County of Scott and State of Mississippi known and described as the part of the South West quarter of section No Ten Township No. Seven of Range No. seven that lies South of a certain branch or rivulet that runs through said quarter section from West to East containing one hundred and six acres of land be the same more or less. Together with all and singular the hereditaments privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the same unto him the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever and the said party of the first part for himself his heirs executors and administrators unto the said party of the second part and to his heirs and assigns the right and title to the above described land will warrant and hereby binds himself his heirs, executors and administrators to forever defend against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whomsoever claiming or to claim the same or any part or parcel thereof, both at law and in equity. In testimony whereof the said party of the first part hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal on the day and year above written. Wm C. Bridges The State of Mississippi Personally appeared before me Alfred Scott County Eastland Clerk of the Probate Court in and for said County the above named William C.
