	This Indenture made and entered into the 20th day of April AD 1857 by 
and between William Ledbetter & Casandria S Ledbetter his wife of the first 
part and Lucretia E. Whitehead of the other part, Witnesseth that for and in 
consideration of the sum of the Five hundred Dollars to us in hand paid the 
receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by 
these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Lucretia E Whitehead her 
heirs & assigns all the certain tract or parcel of land lying being situated in 
the County of Scott more particularly described as the North East quarter of 
Section Twelve of Township Eight of Range Seven East to have and to hold unto 
her the said Lucretia E Whitehead her heirs and assigns forever the right and 
title whereof the said part of the first part and by these presents warrant and 
will forever defend against the claim or claims of any and all persons 
whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same
	In testimony where of the said party of the first part has hereunto set 
their hands and seals on the day above written

The State of Mississippi
	Scott County			Personally appeared before me the 
undersigned Justice of the Peace in and for said County the within named 
William Ledbetter and Casandria S Ledbetter his wife who severally acknowledged 
that they signed sealed and delivered the foregoing deed on the day and year 
and for the uses and purposes therein mentioned as their act and deed.  And 
that said Casandria S Ledbetter upon an examination by me apart from her said 
husband acknowledged that she signed sealed and delivered the same freely and 
voluntarily as her act and deed without any threats fear or compulsion of her 
said husband
Given under my hand and seal the 20th day of April 1857

	Scott County				I James D. Jones Clerk of the 
Probate Court of said County do hereby Certify that the within and foregoing 
deed and certificated of acknowledgement together with this certificate of 
record are this day truly recorded in my Office in Deed Book G on pages 427 & 
428
Given under my hand and seal of Office at Hillsboro the 21st day of May AD 1857
