All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/ms/msfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Ron Reid rreid21@cox.net July 24, 2004, 3:20 pm W1/2 of NE1/4, Sect 11, Twp 7, R7E; also W1/2 of SE1/4 Sect. 11, Twp 7, R7E Written: February 10 1840 Recorded: February 15 1849 Henry Myers Filed for record this 15th day of February 1849 To A Eastland Clerk Richard Whitehead This Indenture made and entered into this the tenth day of February one thousand eight hundred and forty by and between Henry Myers and Rebecca Myers of the County of Scott and State of Mississippi of the first part and Richard Whitehead of the aforesaid County and State of the second part; Witnesseth; That the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and twenty four dollars to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part at and before the sealing and delivering these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all the right title claim and interest in and to the following described tract or parcel of land lying and being situate in the County of Scott and of Mississippi known and described as the West half of the North East quarter of Section No. eleven Township No. seven of Range No. seven East also the West half of the South East quarter of Section No. eleven Township No. seven of Range No. seven East containing one hundred and sixty acres of land be the same more or less, together with all and singular the hereditaments privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining, to have and to hold the same unto him the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever, and the said party of the first part for himself his heirs executors and administrators, unto the said party of the second part and to his heirs and assigns the right and title to the above described land will warrant and hereby binds himself his heirs executors and administrators to forever defend against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whomsoever claiming or to claim the same or any part or parcel thereof both at law and in equity. In testimony whereof the said party of the first part hath hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year above written Henry Myers her The State of Mississippi Rebecca X Myers Scott County mark Personally appeared before me the undersigned Justice of the Peace in and for said County Henry Myers and acknowledged that he signed sealed and delivered the within title to the within named premises for the purposes therein specified and at the same time and place came Rebecca Myers the lawful wife of Henry Myers, and being examined separate and apart from her said husband by me acknowledged that she signed and delivered all her right of Dower to the within named premises for the purposes therein specified as her act and deed without any fear threat or coercion on the part of her husband. In testimony where I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 10th day of February AD 1849 William A. Hutson J.P.
