D.R. Jones Shff		Filed for record this 27th day of January AD 1849
        To		The State of Mississippi	A Eastland  Clerk
Wm. D. Eastland		Scott County		Know all men by these presents 
that I David R. Jones Sheriff of Scott County for and in consideration of the 
sum of one dollar twenty five cents to me in hand paid this day by William D. 
Eastland have this day remised released and for ever quitt claimed unto the 
said William d. Eastland and his heirs all the right title and interest of the 
State of Mississippi in and to the following lands in said County, to wit;  The 
South East quarter of Section three Township five Range seven East; Also the 
East half of East half of Section Twenty eight, Township five Range Seven East 
being the same lands purchased as the property of William Smith by the State 
for the taxes of the year 1842 on the 27th day of March AD 1843 – Given under 
my hand and seal this 23rd day of November AD 1848 by virtue of the authority 
vested in me by an act to provide for the sale of lands purchased by the State 
at tax sales Approved March 4th 1848 – 
				David R. Jones   Sheriff of Scott County
The State of Mississippi
	Scott County			Personally appeared before me Alfred 
Eastland Clerk of the Probate Court in and for said County the above named 
David R. Jones who acknowledged that he signed sealed and delilvered the above 
Deed on the day and year and for the purposes therein mentioned as his official 
act and deed – 
Given under my hand and seal of office at Hillsboro this 27th day of January AD 
1849

	Scott County			I Alfred Eastland Clerk of the Probate 
Court in and for said County do hereby certify that the foregoing Deed and 
certificate of acknowledgement and this certificate of record are truly 
recorded in my office in Book of Deeds E Page 57 – 
				Given under my hand and seal of office at
				Hillsboro this 6th day of February 1849 – 
						Alfred Eastland Clerk
