This Indenture made and entered into this 29th day of August AD 1860, between 
William Whitehead of the first part an L.D. Hillerman of the second part all of 
the County of Scott and State of Mississippi Witnesseth – That the said party 
of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred Dollars to 
him in hand paid by the said party of the second the receipt whereof is hereby 
acknowledged, hand granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant 
bargain and sell and convey unto the party of the second part, his heirs and 
assigns that certain tract or parcel of land situate in the County of Scott and 
State of Mississippi Known and described as follows (viz).  Lot No 7 in Block 
No. 12, as shown in plan and survey of the Town of Morton in the County & State 
before mentioned fronting on second and third streets 100 feet and on third 
Avenue 220 feet it being the South half of said Block together with 
appurtenances to said premises belonging and all Estate title and interest both 
at law and in Equity of the party of the first part in the same.  To have and 
to hold the said granted premises with the appurtenances unto the party of the 
second part his heirs & assigns forever in fee simple and the said party of the 
first part for himself his heirs Executors and administrators do hereby 
covenant and agree with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns 
that the said party of the second part shall forever warrant and defend the 
title to the said premises unto the party of second part his heirs assigns 
against the claim of all persons lawfully claiming the said or any part 
thereof.  In witness whereof the said party of the first part hath hereunto set 
his hand & seal this day and year above written
