Reid rreid21@cox.net September 4, 2004, 10:12 pm Lot in Hillsboro on which he resides Written: February 2 1865 Recorded: February 8 1865 Hi Eastland To Filed for record February 8th 1865 Irvin Miller County Treasurer R W Bonds Clk This Indenture made and entered into this the Second day of February AD 1865 between Hiram Eastland of the first part and Irvin Miller County Treasurer of Scott County and his successors in office of the Second part Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for an in consideration of the sum of twenty six hundred & fifty dollars ($2650.00) loaned to the said party of the first part by the County Treasurer of Scott County State of Mississippi being a portion of the School fund of said County loaned to the said party of the first part in accordance with the acts of the Legislature of the State of Mississippi made & ___ this Indenture Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the said sum of loaned as aforesaid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged & the letter to secure the payment thereof does hereby give grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Irvin Miller County Treasurer as aforesaid and his successors in office the following land situate in said County of Scott to wit A certain Lot adjoining the Town of Hillsboro on which the said Hiram Eastland now resides together with all the privileges and appurtenances to the said land in any wise belonging or appertaining to have & hold the said land to the only proper use & benefit of the said party of the second part Provided nevertheless that if the said Hiram Eastland his heirs or administrators shall pay to the said Irvin Miller County Treasurer as aforesaid or his successors in office the said sum of twenty six hundred & fifty dollars with interest therein at the rate of ten per cent per annum from date on or before the first day of January AD 1866 then this Indenture to be void otherwise to remain in full force & effect In Witness whereof the said party of the first part has hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day & year first in these presents written.
