Chambers To Alfred Eastland This Indenture made and entered into this fourteenth day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and thirty eight between James J. Chambers of the county of Scott and State of Mississippi of the first part and Alfred Eastland of the same county and state of the second part – Witnesseth that the said party of first part for and in consideration of the sum of Seven hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged has this day granted bargained sold conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part and to his heirs and assigns forever all that certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county of Scott and State of Mississippi and known and designated as the east half of the south east quarter of section number twelve in Township number seven of Range number seven east containing eighty 66/100 acres of land be the same more or less – together with all and singular the premises and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining – To have and to hold to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns all the foregoing described land and premises in fee simple forever and the said party of the first part for himself his heirs executors and administrators by these presents covenant promise and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs executors and administrators that he will and his heirs executors and administrators shall forever warrant and defend the title to said granted land and premises against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever both at law and equity.
