Denson To Alfred Eastland State of Mississippi Scott County This Indenture made and entered into the seventeenth day of August in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight Hundred and thirty Eight, Between S. J. Denson President of the Board of Police for said County of the first part, and Alfred Eastland of the County of the County and State aforesaid, of the second part - Witnesseth; That for and in consideration of the sum of Four Hundred and Fifty Dollars to me in hand paid (as President of the Board of Police of the County of Scott) by said Alfred Eastland at and before the signing and sealing of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, aliened enfeoffed, and confirmed and by these presents do grant, Bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, and confirm unto the said Alfred Eastland and to his heirs and assigns forever: all the right, title and Interest vested in the Board of County Police, of the County of Scott to Two Lots Pieces or Parcels of Land, situate lying and being in the Town of Hillsboro in the County of Scott, known and distinguished in the Plat of said Town as Lot Number Six in Square Number three containing Ninety Nine, by One Hundred and forty feet, Also, Lot Number Ten, in Square Number Eight – containing One Hundred and forty feet square, - To have and to hold, unto him the said Alfred Eastland his Heirs and assigns forever, all and singular, said Parcels of Land and its appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining, and I S.J. Denson as President of the Board of Police bind myself, and my successors in office, to forever warrant and defend all and singular the said Lots or Tracts of Land unto the said Alfred Eastland, his Heirs, and assigns forever, against the claim and claims of all and every person or Persons, Lawfully claiming the same. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand officially, on the day and year first above written. Shadrach J. Denson P.B.P. The State of Mississippi Scott County Personally appeared before me James Chambers, Clerk of Probated for said County, Shadrach J. Denson President of the Board of Police for said County who acknowledged that he signed, sealed, and delivered the within Deed of conveyance (as President of the Board of Police for Scott County) as his act and Deed on the day and year and for the uses and purposes therein specified.
