Last Will and Testament of Eli Staton Deceased I Eli Staton a Citizen of the County of Tallahatchie State Of Mississippi, being of sound disposing mind and memory, do make and ordain, publish and declare this my last will and Testament, hereby revoking and all others heretofore made. Item 1st: It is my will and I hereby direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon as soon as possible. 2nd: Having heretofore donated by deed of gift to my Son Henry C. Staton The plantation and adjacent land upon which my said son now resides together with two tenements and herd of animals thereto belonging to him and his heirs and assign in fee simple forever, and regarding the donation contained in said deeds of gift ample so far as my said son is concerned. I hereby devise and bequeath to my grand daughters, Callie F. Martin, Ida Martin, and Alice Martin share and share alike all of the property, both real and personal of which I may die seized and possessed to have and to hold to themselves and their respective heirs in fee simple forever. 3rd: I hereby nominate and appoint Henry C. This day personally appeared in open court Towan Thayer and Eli Garrett, two of the subscribing witnesses to ordain instrument of writing, purporting to be the last will and testament of Eli Staton Deceased being dated July 25th AD 1874, who first being duly sworn according to lad deposed and said that Eli Staton signed sealed published and declared said instrument as his last will and testament in the presence of affiants and in the presence of W.B. Knox the other subscribing witness to said instrument on the day of the date thereof; That said Testator was then of sound disposing mind and memory and more than twenty years of age, and that affiants and the said W.B. Knox the other subscribing witness thereto, subscribed said instrument as within thereto at the instance and request and in the presence of said Testator and in the presence of each other, and in the presence of W.B.
