These road names were adopted for the "911" Emergency Service several years ago. Locals used to call what is now "East Tate Road" up to the intersection of "Crawford Road" and beyond toward Poagville, the Senatobia Poagville Road. The original Crawford house is located on Crawford Road, behind the home of Dennis Paul Scruggs and his wife, Evelyn "Lyn" Ogle Cox. Lyn is presently in charge of the cemetery. The cemetery is on land donated by ROBERT CRAWFORD (1784 1844) and his son, JOHN CRAWFORD (1807 1889). Both are buried in the Northwest section of the cemetery. The northeast corner of the cemetery is said to contain the unmarked graves of several slaves. The grave of Archibold Crawford (sixth child of Robert and Margaret Crawford) is the oldest marked gravesite in the cemetery (died 1843). Judy Diane Ogle and her family conducted this cemetery survey in April 2001. The order of listing is generally from the gate (southeast corner) by rows to the northwest corner. Some genealogical data is being compiled on the Ogle and allied families. It is said that there are two graves marked only by cedar trees. These are the graves of EZEKIAH GRAHAM INGRAHAM, b. 1805, d. 1891, and his wife, LEVECIE HUFFSTATLER, b. 1816, d. 1893. Although not known with certainty, it is thought that these trees are the two large cedar trees in the northwest corner of the cemetery and not the four large cedar trees on the western boundary.
