Mrs. May Funeral Held

Funeral services for Mrs. Lura Fortenberry May, 77, were held Sunday at Capps 
Chapel with Revs. James Smith and Charles Smith officiating.  She died June 9 
at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Mrs. May was born Dec. 19, 1902, in old Pike County, daughter of Thomas M. and 
Rosa Fortenberry Fortenberry. She married Herbert Claude May, who preceded her 
in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Patsy Whitehead, Foxworth; one son, Billy 
Joe May, Tylertown; three sisters, Mrs. Wessie Hamilton and Mrs. Lola Sartin, 
Tylertown; Mrs. Rosa Matrenga, Baton Rouge; one brother, Cohn Fortenberry; 
four grandchildren, five great grand-children.  

Pallbearers were Harold May, Charles Ray Thomas, Tim May, Charlie E. May, 
Henry G. Harvey and Jimmy Brumfield.  Burial was in Tylertown Cemetery with 
Capps Funeral Home in charge.
