                          Mattie  Toomey  Becton
Mattie  Toomey  Becton , 96, of Silas, Ala., died on Sept. 8, 2006 at Wayne 
General Hospital. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons, L.D. Beton III of Hampton, Ark., O.M.  Becton  
of Aquilla, Ala., and Tom  Becton  of Aquilla, Ala.; a daughter, Totsy Ann 
Todd of Aquilla, Ala.; a sister, Wilma Toomey Odom of Robertsale, Ala.; 13 
grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death her her husband, Loren David "Tot"  Becton , Jr.; a 
son, Joe Berry  Becton ; two brothers, William McCall Toomey, Sr., and Arthur 
Barnett Toomey, Sr.; three sisers, Janie Toomey, Lillie Mae Pearce and Lena 
Trigg; and a grandson, James Brian  Becton .
Funeral services were held on Sept. 11, 2006 at Isney Baptist Church, with 
Rev. Glane Whatley, Rev. Ralph Lee, Rev. Roger Carlisle and Rev. Billy Harris 
officiating. Interment followed at the Isney Cemetery.
Freeman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements

Mattie was born  7-8-1910 to Oscar McCall Toomey and Mary Selena "Lena" 
McElroy.
