Mickey McLendon officiating. Interment was in the Serenity Garden Cemetery in Waynesboro. Cook was born July 30, 1910 in Millry, Ala. and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesboro and died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2008 at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro. Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Patrick Deemy and husband Larry of Waynesboro; a son, Lamont Cook and wife Alene of Leakesville; four grandchildren, Howard Patrick of Ellisville, Lola Patrick of Bogalusa, La., Jeffery Cook of Meridan and Stacy Cook of Leakesville; four great- grandchildren, Michelle Cook of New Orleans La., Brandie Cook of Meridan, Josh Cook of Leakesville, and Rease Cook of Ellisville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, V. J. Cook. Freeman Funeral Home of Waynesboro was in charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Lola was born to Alvin Taylor Singley and Lola Olive Lee Singley, both of whom are buried in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Choctaw County, Alabama.
