                             Emery Caver Douglas
 Emery Caver Douglas, 92, of Buckatunna,died on June 17, 2006 at his residence.
 He was self-employed in the timber industry and a World War II veteran, 
having served in the Army. He was also a member of the Chicora Masonic Lodge 
#538.
 He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Lee Douglas and his parents, Ezra 
Warren Douglas Sr. and Maggie Dell Patrick Douglas.
 He is survived by a daughter, Dinah Douglas and Hershel H. "Herky" Hardy of 
Waynesboro; a brother, Bunyon Douglas of Buckatunna; a sister, Regina Douglas 
Kietzer of Gulfport; two grandchildren, Deeanna Hardee Moseley and her 
husband, Jason Mosely, and Scott Douglas Hardee; and a host of nieces and 
nephews.
 Funeral services were held on June 19, 2006 at Freeman Funeral Home Chapel, 
with Rev. Douglas Moore and Dr. Steve Smith officiating. Interment followed at 
Providence Cemetery.
 Freeman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
