 LEE----JOHN W. LEE, native of Choctaw County, Ala., and a resident of 
Whistler for 30 years, died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Z. W. 
Goleman of Whistler, Monday night at 7:20 o'clock, August 9, 1937. Surviving 
are three sons, D. C. Lee, Mobile, C. G. Lee, Birmingham, and J. U. Lee, 
Bucatunna, Miss.; five daughters, Mrs. Z. W. Goleman, Whistler, Mrs. J. A. 
Locke, Mobile, Mrs. G. A. Davis and Mrs. Pete Strand, Whistler, and Mrs. Otha 
Rhodes, Mobile; one brother, Frank Lee, Chicora, Miss.; one sister, Mrs. Ben 
Locke, Semmes, Ala.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other 
relatives. The remains will be shipped to Chicora, Miss., Tuesday morning at 
10:30 o'clock for interment by the Higgins Mortuary.

Additional Comments:
John was born 7-19-1864 to James "Jim" lee and Elizabeth Ann Gilder Lee. 
Alabama death certificate #19732. He is buried at Mt. Zion Baptist Church 
Cemetery in Wayne County, Mississippi. His wife was F. Louisa "Ludie" Gordley 
Lee.
