W. A. L. Caldwell, Clerk J. P. Lewis to J. P. Anderson This Indenture made & entered into this 12 day of August 1867 betweeb Johnathan P. Lewis of Mi County of Choctaw State of Mississippi of the first-part and John P. Anderson of the Mi County and state aforesaid of the second part witnesseth that the said party of the first part for in & in consideration of the sum of Four Hendred dollars evidences by two promissory notes made payable to said party of the first-byJ. P. Anderson party of the second part one for the sum of three hundred dollars due the first day of January 1868 and the other due the first day of January 1869. And said notes dated day and yer above written the receipt of which is hereby acknowlieges have given granted (illegible) and sold by these presents do sell and convey to the said John P. Anderson the following tract piece or parcel of land situatier lying and being in said County of Choctaw state aforesaid and known and described as follows (viz) Fifty Acres off North end W1/2 W W1/4 and thirty acress off of North end of E1/2 of W W1/4 Section Eight (8) Township Twenty (20) Range Ten (10) it being the place where now the said J. P. Lewis resides to have and to hold the same with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging to said J. P. Anderson party of the second part-& his heirs forever the said J. P. Lewis agrees to warrant and defends the title of the above described land unto the said J. P. Anderson & his heirs forever & ever under my hand and seal this day & date above written. J. P. Lewis who acknowledges that he signed sealed and delivered the written deed on the day and year therin mentioned ss his act and deed and for the purposes therin (illegible) Given under my hand and seal of office at Greensboro this 12 day of August A.D. 1867 B. Stewart Clerk of the Probate Court of said County certify that tyhe within deed was received in my office to be recorded on the 12 day of August 1867 & that the same has been duly recorded in Deed 4 on pages 3-13 & 14 of this Records of Deeds H.
