Dan Russell officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Berryhill Funeral Home. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church. Mrs. Carter was born Sept. 4, 1922, in Woodville, the daughter of Charles Adkin Wood and Ida Odile Chisholm. She was a retired purchasing clerk for the Wilkinson Count Board of Supervisors, a housewife and member of Woodville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by one brother, John Adkin Wood. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Wood Carter of Woodville, Mary Ann Carter Koonce of Metairie, La., and Billie Faye Carter of Jackson; three sisters, Nan Landers and Honey Gross of Woodville and Laura Baca of Pearland, Texas; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
