The deceased was born at Wadams' Grove, Ill., in 1852, and moved with his parents to Montana in 1862. They located at Bannack, and Mr. Wadams' early life was spent in the ancient capital. When he grew to manhood he located on a ranch in the Red Rock valley, six miles east of Lima, where he had made his home ever since. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary J. Wadams, and it was she who made the famous ride from Bannack through the Horse Prairie and Medicine Lodge country at the time of an Indian outbreak in the early days to warn othe residents of the coming of the redskins. This ride has gone down in the early history of Montana. Mr. Wadams was then but a boy, working in the hills when his mother rode 75 miles on a kentucky race horse to warn him of the impending danger. The deceased is also survived by three sisters and one brother. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at Lima.
