Rosa May Services Held

Funeral services for Rosa May, 87, were held at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic 
Church on Thursday morning Feb. 17 at 10:00 with Father Tobin conducting Mass.

Pallbearers were Bernard Sonksen, Pete Norden, Richard Bush, Ben Oliver, John 
O'Malley, Joe Trepina.

Honorary Pallbearers were Jack Kane, Fred Henderson, Leon McConkey, Loren 
McConkey, Loren McConkey, Art Kaiser, Harry Snow.

Internment was made in the Big Sandy Cemetery.  Lunch was served at the home 
of Ernest Petersen for the family and Friends.

Rosa was born Dec. 6, 1884 in Iowa, moved to Calif., and Honolulu and then 
came with her family in 1898 to the Warrick area.  She married Herman May in 
Big Sandy in May of 1907.  They ranched in the Bear Paw Mt.  She loved it out 
there.  Two daughters were born, Lola on Feb 14, 1909 and Clara Sept. 25, 1915.

In Oct. 1938 her husband passed on and a few years later Rosa sold the old 
home place. In 1940 she moved to Oregon where she had a dairy farm.

In 1942 her duaghter Clara passed on.

A few years later she moved back to her hills (as she called them) lived with 
her mother until 1952 when she and her mother moved to town.  They lived in 
the hotel a year then moved to the house she lived in until her passing.  Her 
mother Minnie Schultz passed away Aug 1954.

In Oct. 1969 her oldest duaghter Lola passed away.  Rosa became ill about a 
year ago and has been in and out of the hsopital.

One brothr Max preceded her in death in 1950.  

Suvivors include six grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great great.
